Veteran Ugandan musician Joseph Mayanja a.k.a Jose Chameleone, has once again sparked heated debate in both political and entertainment circles following his latest remarks about fellow artist-turned-politician Robert Kyagulanyi, alias Bobi Wine.
In a recent interview with a U.S.-based Ugandan YouTuber Omubbi Masembe, Lenone Island Empire boss criticized the National Unity Platform (NUP) Presidential candidate Bobi Wine, claiming that his popularity is based more on his music career than on genuine political support.
“The people who follow Bobi Wine are not real voters; they are just music fans who admire him as an artist. He doesn’t have voters across the country, and that’s why he can’t defeat Museveni in an election”,Chameleone said
Despite his sharp remarks, Chameleone insisted that he bears no personal grudge against Bobi Wine and wished him success in his political pursuits.
The “Basiima Ogenze” Singer of recent has been actively campaigning for the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) and recently reaffirmed his support for President Yoweri Museveni ahead of the upcoming elections.
