Ugandan rapper Fik Fameica, born Walukagga Shafik, has emphasized that for him, concerts are more about investing in his brand than chasing financial gain.
Speaking to the media following Mun G’s recent concert at the Serena Hotel which was well-attended but reportedly fell short of financial expectations, Fik Fameica offered a different perspective.
He said that while making money is important, it’s not the driving force behind his decision to put on shows.
“For me, concerts are a form of brand investment, everyone has their own reasons for organizing a show. Personally, it’s not about making money. If the event helps push my brand forward and I recover the money I put in, I’m satisfied.” Fik Fameica explained.
Fik’s concert was organized in partnership with Kibbo Establishment, a top Ugandan events management company, and the Kibbo Ghetto Climate Change Foundation an organization focused on climate awareness, community resilience, and access to quality education for underprivileged children.
Addressing the press, Fik expressed gratitude to his fans and partners, acknowledging their role in the event’s success.
He also apologized for any shortcomings, stressing that the concert was more than just a personal achievement it was also about youth empowerment and giving back to the community.
“I thank God and all my fans who showed up and supported me,We had a great time. Yes, I made some money, but that’s never my main goal. If a show fails, it hurts because I’ve invested in it. But as long as I break even, I’m happy it means I’ve made progress with my brand.”he said .
