Mpaka Records boss Ykee Benda has spoken out on why he has been performing at NRM campaign rallies, saying his decision is strictly business nothing political.

In the past weeks, the singer has appeared at several NRM events, sparking heavy criticism from fans and online followers who accused him of “selling out.”

Social media was flooded with mixed reactions, with some expressing disappointment over his involvement in the ruling party’s activities.

During a recent TikTok Live, the Muna Kampala singer explained that he was simply hired to do his job.

He revealed that Bebe Cool approached him with an offer to perform at the rallies.

“I asked him how much he was paying. Once we agreed, I started performing — it’s my job,” YKee said.

Ykee Benda added that he is available for any political event, regardless of the party.

“Our goal is to make money. I even saw Gravity performing at a PFF rally, yet we’ve been with him at NRM rallies,” he noted.
