Celebrated Ugandan singer Martha Mukisa has chosen to remain discreet about the identity of her child’s father, months after giving birth in May this year.
In a recent interview, Martha explained that she prefers to keep her partner out of the public eye for now. However, she hinted that fans will eventually get to know him.
“He has his own personal life. I keep telling people I’ll reveal him at the right time. There are things couples can’t hide forever, but we’ve chosen to keep our relationship private.”,she said.
In a light-hearted moment, she joked that the public might finally catch a glimpse of them together “when we walk down the aisle at Namirembe Cathedral.”
Beyond her personal life, Martha announced her official return from maternity leave. She gave birth to her daughter, Kiana, at Kibuli Hospital in May and has been largely off-stage since.
Her last live performance was when she was six months pregnant, during a show in Busia. While she hasn’t been performing publicly, she clarified that her time away wasn’t traditional “maternity leave.”
“I wouldn’t really call it leave,My healing process involves juggling life and workbthat’s how I function best. Even during pregnancy, I kept active and posted videos online.”,she said .
In fact, Martha even shot a music video with a Kenyan collaborator while expecting and revealed she has a number of unreleased songs ready to go.
Martha Mukisa also shared that her pregnancy came as a surprise, but she embraced the experience fully.
Now, with her daughter a few months old, the “Sango” hitmaker is excited to refocus on her music career. She promised fans a fresh wave of projects in the near future.
“I’m ready to hit the stage again and bring new music to my fans,” she said confidently.
