Ugandan singer Grace Namuwulya, popularly known as Grace Khan, has made a startling confession about her past struggles with addiction revealing that she used drugs during her pregnancy with her daughter, Grannah, whom she shares with fellow musician Prince Omar.
Speaking in an interview with Shalom 256 on YouTube, the “Njakufa Naye” hitmaker confessed that she was deep in addiction and did not realize she was pregnant until months later.
“I realized I was pregnant when I was about three months along. I was a drug addict, and that’s probably why I didn’t know earlier,It was actually a male friend who noticed and told me. I almost died from the shock.”,she recounted.
Grace Khan, whose on-and-off relationship with Prince Omar has often been the subject of public scrutiny, admitted that the news of her pregnancy initially overwhelmed her. She even considered ending it after realizing their relationship would not last.
However, she says keeping the pregnancy was one of the best decisions she has ever made.
“God doesn’t give you responsibilities you can’t manage,I don’t regret keeping my baby. My daughter is a blessing.”,she said.
Earlier this year, reports surfaced that Grace had fallen out with her then-manager Tadius Katumba over alleged concerns about her alcohol use.
The singer has since opened up about her long battle with addiction, which she says lasted for about six years.
Grace Khan now says she is focused on turning her life around staying sober and rebuilding her music career.
