Former Supreme Mufti Sheikh Siliman Kasule Ndirangwa Pronounced Dead

Sheikh Siliman Kasule Ndirangwa, the former Supreme Mufti of the Kibuli-based Muslim faction in Uganda, has been pronounced dead on June 20, 2025, at the age of 65.

His passing has shocked and saddened the nation, especially the Muslim community, to which he dedicated much of his life.

Siliman Kasule Ndirangwa was a respected religious leader known for his moderate views and efforts to foster unity within Uganda’s Muslim population.

He served as the spiritual head of the Kibuli Muslim administration until his unexpected resignation in April 2021. At the time, he cited the need to promote harmony among Muslims as the primary reason for stepping down, amid rising internal tensions.

Born in Kawempe, Sheikh Siliman Kasule Ndirangwa was widely recognized for advocating socio-economic development, education, and interfaith dialogue. His calm leadership and dedication to peaceful coexistence earned him respect both within Uganda and beyond.

The cause of his death has not yet been disclosed, deepening the grief and uncertainty felt by many who admired and followed him.

Preparations for Sheikh Ndirangwa’s burial are currently underway. Muslim leaders, family members, and close associates are working to ensure that his final rites are carried out with dignity and in accordance with Islamic traditions.

Details regarding the exact location and timing of the burial are still being finalized.

The community is eagerly awaiting further announcements to pay their respects and honor the legacy of a leader who played a pivotal role in shaping Uganda’s Islamic affairs.
