Former NTV Uganda news anchor and Mwasuze Mutya host, Faridah Nakazibwe, has shared a personal story about how she once lost a relationship over her decision to take care of singer Bruno K’s daughter, Briella.

Faridah has been playing a motherly role to Briella since 2021 after the passing of the child’s biological mother.

The singer trusted Faridah to raise his daughter, and she gladly took on the responsibility, ensuring that the little girl grows up disciplined, neat, confident and God-fearing.

However, during that time, Faridah was getting to know a certain man who was interested in dating her. In an interview with Ruth Kalibbala, Faridah said she decided to give him a chance, though she was not so sure about him.

Shockingly, the man began to demand that she stops taking care of Briella, arguing that the child already had a father and therefore didn’t belong in Faridah’s life.

Faridah says this was the turning point.

“I lost a relationship because the man didn’t want anything to do with Briella. She was still very young, but he wanted to control me and tell me to send her away. I couldn’t understand how someone could think like that, so I let him go,” Faridah revealed.

Despite rumors that Faridah and Bruno K are romantically involved, both have insisted they are just close friends. Bruno K has previously appreciated Faridah through a song he released in her honor.

Bruno once revealed that he  continues to visit Faridah’s home regularly because of the bond she has built with his daughter.

Meanwhile, the singer has faced criticism regarding fatherhood, with claims that he has children by different women but avoids responsibility. This is partly why Faridah stepped in to take care of Briella which she doesn’t regret at all.
