A heated dispute has reportedly broken out between the mother of the late Muhammad Segirinya and his widows over the distribution of his property.
Segirinya, a former Member of Parliament, passed away in January this year after a prolonged battle with a cancer-related illness. He was laid to rest in Masaka District.
Fresh reports now indicate growing tensions between his mother, Justine Nakajjumba, and his widows. Allegedly, Nakajjumba has taken control of a significant portion of her late son’s estate, managing it with the help of Segirinya’s sisters.
According to sources, the widows have been stripped of access to various properties, including a farm in Matuga and several rental units in the Kawempe area.
Furthermore, Nakajjumba has reportedly demanded custody of her grandchildren and is accused of forcing one of the widows, Nanfuka Fatuma mother of Nagirinya out of her rental home.
One of the widows, Twayira Akandiida, is said to be considering legal action and may petition the courts to intervene in the escalating inheritance dispute.
