Eddy Kenzo Bags Second Grammy Awards Nomination

Ugandan music star Eddy Kenzo has yet again put Uganda on the global stage after securing another nomination at the prestigious Grammy Awards 2026

Kenzo’s collaboration titled “Hope & Love” with Iranian-American artist Mehran Matin has been nominated in the Best African Music Performance category.

The Big Talent Entertainment boss stands alongside some of the biggest music names on the continent this year

This becomes Eddy Kenzo’s second Grammy nomination, after his first came in 2024 for his project with American singer Matt B. The “Sitya Loss” hit maker will now battle it out with top African stars including:Burna Boy for “Love,Davido featuring Omah Lay for “With You”,Wizkid featuring Ayra Starr for “Gimme Dat”,Tyla for “Push 2 Start.Tyla previously won this same category in 2024.

The Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled for February 1, 2026, and fans are hopeful that this will be the year Kenzo becomes the first Ugandan and East African artist to win a Grammy.

Aside from music, Eddy Kenzo currently serves as the President of the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) and Presidential advisor on creatives. He has continuously represented Uganda globally and previously made history in 2016 as the first and only Ugandan to win a BET Award.

This latest nomination further confirms his legacy as one of Uganda’s biggest musical exports, a hardworking pioneer, and a key figure shaping African music worldwide.
