Maama Fiina, born Sophia Namutebi, took to the stage during the event and addressed the audience with a bold promise.she announced that she was about to gift Kusasira money that would change her life and that of her husband.
Holding an envelope, she spoke about how the cash inside would mark a turning point in their financial struggles.
Catherine Kusasira, who is known for her lavish lifestyle, assumed the envelope contained a substantial sum. She expected Maama Fiina, given her own high profile, to understand what “life-changing” meant in financial terms.
Filled with excitement, Kusasira clutched the envelope tightly, even noticing fellow artists trailing her, curious about the mysterious gift.
However, when she later opened the envelope among friends, she was stunned to find it filled with UGX 2,000 notes totaling just 1 million shillings. What was meant to be a transformative moment turned into an embarrassing one, as her friends burst out laughing.
“I genuinely thought it was about UGX 100 million,When someone tells me they’re about to change my life and my husband’s, I expect a serious figure. I mean, look at me I take good care of myself. I even made sure to pick the envelope myself to avoid any doubts about someone tampering with it.”Kusasira said.
Disappointed, Kusasira publicly advised Maama Fiina to avoid making promises she doesn’t intend to fulfill.
