Ugandan music icon and Gagamel International boss Bebe Cool has boldly claimed that singer turned politician , Bobi Wine got inspired by him to join politics.

While appearing on Sanyuka TV, the Wire Wire singer said that long before Bobi Wine entered politics, he was already actively supporting President Yoweri Museveni and the NRM party.

Bebe Cool revealed that he even recorded the song “Ekisanja” to rally support for the president’s re-election bid, showing his loyalty to the ruling party.

“He (Bobi Wine) found me here, and I know he learnt from me that an artist can also involve themselves in politics and leadership,” Bebe Cool said.

The singer further explained that although he and Bobi Wine belong to the same generation, their ideologies and approaches toward leadership are completely different.

“If Kyagulanyi had any purpose or intention to take my country forward in case the president steps aside, I would have joined and supported him. To me, it’s not about who is president, but about who can take our country forward,” he added.

Bebe Cool also noted that he has never seen Bobi Wine’s clear manifesto, saying that during one of his interviews, instead of presenting his plans, the NUP leader only displayed President Museveni’s.
