Alien Skin Withdraws from Hiskool Awards Nominations

Ugandan musician Patrick Mulwana, popularly known as Alien Skin, has officially requested the organizers of the Hiskool Awards to remove his name from the list of nominees.

This comes shortly after the final list of nominees was released for the much-anticipated awards ceremony, which celebrates rising talent in entertainment, business, and media.

Alien Skin had been nominated in the “Best Male Artist” category, alongside notable artists such as Ray G, Eddy Kenzo, and King Saha. Despite the recognition, the singer declined the nomination, stating that he would not be participating in the awards.

Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) account, the artist expressed his gratitude for the acknowledgment but emphasized the importance of seeking consent before nominating someone in the future.

“Dear Hiskool Awards Team,
I sincerely appreciate the recognition and the honor of being nominated for the Hiskool Awards. However, I kindly request that you withdraw my name from the list of nominees. In the future, I would appreciate it if my consent is sought before including me in your nominations,” he wrote.

While appreciative of the gesture, Alien Skin made it clear that he prefers to be consulted before being included in such initiatives.
