Comedy Store boss and celebrated comedian Alex Muhangi has officially been elected as the new President of the Uganda Comedians Association (TUCA).
The announcement was made during a meeting held at Royal Suites in Bugolobi, attended by several top comedians, industry stakeholders and entertainment influencers.
Muhangi now takes over leadership from Hannington Bugingo, who has served as the founding president since the association officially started in 2019. During Bugingo’s time, TUCA focused on bringing comedians together under one umbrella to promote unity and professionalism.
TUCA, which was officially launched in January 2020, aims to unite Ugandan comedians ,create better working comedians conditions and promote welfare and growth in the comedy industry.
Alex Muhangi, known for growing the comedy sector through Comedy Store UG, is expected to bring more opportunities, structure, and support for comedians across the country.
Many fans and fellow entertainers have already congratulated him, wishing him the best in his new role.
